Amlin and its predecessor syndicates have written auto insurance for more than 40 years. The syndicate has changed its name over the years but has always been one of the principal leaders of motor related business in the market.
The coverage that Amlin provides is primarily stand alone Auto Physical Damage business, but we also lead classes such as dealers open lot, comprehensive motor, motor truck cargo, logging/forestry and construction risks.

Matthew Maxwell

Matthew has worked for Amlin since 1987 and has experience in many different areas of the business, having worked abroad on specific projects. He was appointed leading class underwriter of Auto in 2000. His team writes mainly stand alone auto physical damage, but also dealers open lot, comprehensive motor, motor truck cargo, logging/forestry and construction risks.
Matthew set up the FTC Consortium for USA and Canadian business
that still thrives today in partnership with Cathedral
Underwriting.

Graham Desborough

Graham commenced work at a Lloyd’s accountants in 1974 before joining Lloyd’s Syndicate A.G.Oldworth & others in 1976 where he gained experience on auto, direct and facultative and treaty accounts.
In 1985 Graham joined R.F. Bailey and others as the direct and
facultative underwriter responsible for the auto, property and
personal accident accounts. He became a director of R.F. Bailey
Underwriting Agencies in 1992 before joining Amlin as the class
underwriter for the auto account in 2003.
