Tom Brand

Tom joined Amlin in 2008 as leading class underwriter for the cargo account.  Previously at Swiss Re, he focused on specialist and capacity driven cargo risks, including US stock-throughput, oil and project cargo risks.

His twenty-one year career in marine insurance included eighteen years underwriting and managing cargo accounts for Hiscox, CGU and Berkshire Hathaway.

Andy Carter

Andy Carter
Andy has over 24 years’ experience in the cargo insurance market, having been trained with Royal Insurance in cargo, hull and yacht marine classes and then specialising in cargo related business for 16 years as a Lloyd’s broker with Horace Holman & Co. Ltd. He joined Amlin Transit as an underwriter in 2000 and moved to the Amlin Syndicate to take over his current Cargo Underwriter role in 2005.

Alan Giles

Alan Giles

Prior to joining Amlin, Alan has held various underwriting positions within the Lloyd’s Market since he joined over thirty years ago. During this time Alan has also underwritten hull, aviation, non-marine and bloodstock.

Alan’s role at Amlin is to underwrite a UK and international account and provide business to Amlin Transit and the Lloyd’s cargo account.

Martin Jay

Martin has been involved in the insurance sector since 1971, working in a range of disciplines including life assurance, reinsurance and marine. In 1997, Martin joined Angerstein Transit, now Amlin Transit, as one of the three founding underwriters.
