Amlin strengthens the Amlin Bermuda team

10 March 2008

Amlin today announced that it is transferring Rob Wyatt, currently Leading Class Underwriter of Property D&F for Syndicate 2001, to Amlin Bermuda with effect from 1 April, subject to Bermudian immigration status. Rob will work alongside Underwriting Director, John Andrews, to build on the considerable success which Amlin Bermuda has enjoyed since starting operations in November 2005. It is planned that Rob will take over as Underwriting Director in advance of the 2009 underwriting year.

Rob Wyatt has worked in the Lloyd’s market since 1982 and with Harvey Bowring (now Amlin) since 1992. He left in 1996 to work in Bermuda as Senior Vice President of Underwriting for Terra Nova before returning to Harvey Bowring and Amlin in 2001 as an international catastrophe underwriter. After the World Trade Center disaster, he was appointed leading class underwriter for Amlin’s direct and facultative property account. Amlin’s London property D&F team remains unchanged with John Brown, Simon Jefferys and Keith Milbank assuming responsibility for Rob’s general property, steel and semiconductor portfolio.

Charles Philipps, Amlin CEO commented, “Amlin Bermuda provided an excellent result in 2007, growing its direct income by 26% and contributing an underwriting profit up 68.4% to the Group. Rob’s appointment takes the underwriting team to seven and underlines our commitment to growing our Bermudian business in the long term.”
