Environment
Climate change affects some 35-40% of global insured risks and is thus a significant external risk to our business. In order to explore fully the risks and opportunities presented by climate change, we formed a Climate Change Panel, composed of senior underwriters from across our businesses and chaired by the Chief Risk Officer.
Since 2007 Amlin has been a signatory to the ClimateWise principles, a joint initiative of the Association of British Insurers, The Prince of Wales's Business & the Environment Programe, Lloyd's and other insurance market participants. To view our report for the period to 31 May 2011 click here.
We also participated in the 2010 Carbon Disclosure Project, www.cdproject.net.
Amlin has completed a carbon footprint analysis for the 2010 calendar year. Please use the relevant link to view our methodology, summary of calculation and assurance statement from Deloitte LLP. To view the 2009 calculation click here.
We continue to actively manage the direct impact of our activities, including such areas as internal processes, recycling, energy and materials use.
