Amlin aims to play a positive role in the community through charitable fundraising and encouraging employees to engage with local community partners. We promote payroll giving and provide matched funding for eligible staff initatives.
Our charity and community programme focuses on serving the communities near our office locations in London, Chelmsford, Basingstoke and, since 2006, in Bermuda.
In 2009, Amlin's Charity and Community Panel launched a new initiative called Community Action Learning, which we believe is unique within the Lloyd’s market. We were keen to advance Amlin’s corporate responsibility from fundraising challenges to providing practical support and engagement within a community that would present challenges of a different kind. Following a very successful programme in 2009, the Panel agreed to repeat this in 2010.
Amlin’s partnership charity is Macmillan Cancer Support. Our strategy is to raise funds to support new palliative care posts in London for up to three years, on the understanding that these posts will thereafter be funded by the relevant health authority. We currently support a Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist at Imperial College Healthcare.
