Paul started his career in 1989, working for E.W.Payne Limited in the broker back up/claims areas, specialising in London Market Reinsurance. In 1994, after joining Syndicate 902 (which later became part of Amlin) Paul moved his focus to marine, concentration on marine hull and marine hull war.
In 1997 Paul became an underwriting assistant on the hull account, being promoted to Assistant Underwriter in 2002. In 2008, Paul was promoted to Marine Hull Underwriter, with authority to underwrite all aspects of the account. Paul currently sits on the Joint Hull Navigating Committee and the Joint Hull Statistics Committee. Paul was promoted to Class Underwriter in April 2012.
