After graduating, James began his insurance career with the broking house Bain Clarkson. In 1994, James joined Amlin to work for the Lloyd's Syndicates which became the Amlin Aviation Division. Until 2011, James wrote all classes of aviation business including Airline, Reinsurance, General Aviation and Satellite, whilst also purchasing the Division's outwards reinsurance.
In 2012, James joined the Reinsurance Division to concentrate on the Aviation excess of loss account. James continues to write the Satellite account for Amlin. James is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurer.
